9 Incredible Squamish Wedding Venues
If you’re looking for a beautiful, adventurous and convenient place to get married in BC, you have to consider Squamish. I’ve been visiting Squamish for over 20 years and have photographed countless Squamish weddings. I’m familiar with the terrain, the light and all of the best Squamish wedding venues. My family and I love to spend time in Squamish, and it’s wonderful to see my couples fall in love with this natural paradise as well.
Below I’m sharing nine of my favourite Squamish wedding venues that I’ve discovered having personally shot many weddings at each place, plus why these venues might be right for you!
1. Cheakamus Centre

Cheakamus Centre is a 165 ha ecological reserve deep in the forests of Squamish. I love this venue because it really feels like you’re getting married in the middle of a quiet, magical rainforest. Everything around you is lush and mossy.
Cheakamus Centre offers a variety of indoor and outdoor sites for your ceremony and reception. Capacity ranges from 40-300 guests depending on which location you choose. My favourite spot is their Forest Ceremony where you’re surrounded by 100 year old trees and moss cover. The light here is incredible for an afternoon ceremony.
As a full-service venue, Cheakamus Centre provides your Squamish ceremony and reception venues, food and drink, and select decor and rentals. You’ll work with an Events Coordinator to make all of your arrangements (their staff are the best!).
- Perfect for couples who want to be fully immersed in nature and enjoy the convenience of a full-service venue.

2. Sunwolf

I’ve known Jess and Jake, the owners of Sunwolf, for over 18 years and have photographed many weddings at their gorgeous resort. This is easily one of my favourite wedding venues in Squamish.
All weddings at Sunwolf are multi-day events with a minimum two-night stay. You have exclusive use of the property, meaning you and your guests will enjoy the lush riverside forest setting all to yourselves.
Sunwolf is a full-service venue, so your booking will include your outdoor Squamish wedding venues, cabins for you and your guests, catering through Fergie’s Cafe (their food is incredible!), and tents and rentals. Plus, Sunwolf also provides excellent lawn games.
While Sunwolf has everything you need, I love how couples can really make it their own with decor and rentals. There’s a lot of room for creativity here. Plus, what could be better than hanging with up to 175 of your closest friends for an awesome wedding weekend in the forest?
- Perfect for couples who want to host a multi-day event and embrace the outdoors.

3. Sea to Sky Gondola

If you’re looking for the most amazing views for your Squamish wedding, you definitely have to consider the Sea to Sky Gondola. The views of Howe Sound and the Chief from up here are unbeatable!
Your Sea to Sky Gondola wedding starts, naturally, with a ride up the gondola. That’s a pretty cool way to arrive at your ceremony! This is especially fun if you have guests from out of town who haven’t been to Sea to Sky before.
There are a number of sites at the Sea to Sky Gondola for your indoor, outdoor or outdoor covered ceremony and reception. This venue is perfect for weddings both big (up to 200 people standing) and small (elopements with up to 10 people).
My favourite thing about the Sea to Sky Gondola is that the sun sets in the perfect place for golden hour photos. You can get married with a beautiful mountain and ocean backdrop without having to walk too much, as everything is close together. However, if you are up for it, there are some beautiful hikes you can do out to different lookout points – I love to do this for couple’s portraits!
- Perfect for couples who want amazing views and a unique experience for their guests, for both large weddings and small elopements.

4. Cheekye Ranch

If you’re looking for a rustic, country western feel for your Squamish wedding, check out Cheekye Ranch. This 60 acre property next to the Cheakamus River not only offers a stunning wedding venue, but also provides a home for over 40 rescued horses.
Your Cheekye Ranch wedding includes exclusive access to a beautiful three acre section of the ranch and a two-night stay for you and your guests. You’ll rent riverside yurts and the Cheekye Shack, as well as have plenty of room for your guests to camp in RVs and tents.
I love that Cheekye Ranch offers a lot of flexibility. You can bring in your own catering and beverage service, plus make the most of the grounds by adding on options like a private sauna, fishing, river rafting and arriving at your ceremony on horseback!
- Perfect for couples who want to make the most of a stunning ranch during a multi-day camping wedding event.

5. Furry Creek

Furry Creek Golf and Country Club boasts incredible views of the beach, ocean and mountains – there’s even a waterfall where you can hold your ceremony! And you won’t want to miss the beautiful evening light for golden hour photos at this Squamish venue.
Furry Creek offers a number of different wedding packages – from a full ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner reception to just a photo tour around the golf course – as well as many different indoor and outdoor sites. I love that their indoor reception sites have huge windows allowing for gorgeous views throughout your wedding day.
One fun thing about Furry Creek is that guests can get around by golf cart. This makes it easy to move everyone from the ceremony to photos to cocktail hour to the reception. We can even take a golf cart down to the beach for some gorgeous couple’s portraits.
Bonus: A free round of golf is included for the newlyweds!
- Perfect for couples who want a full-service venue with a variety of packages and sites to choose from in a beautiful location.

6. Sitka Farms

If you’re looking for Squamish wedding venues off the beaten path, consider a new favourite of mine, Sitka Farms. The owners, Chanel and Kenny, are truly the nicest people ever and will do whatever they can to ensure your wedding day goes off without a hitch.
The vibe here is rustic, romantic and laidback. Picture walking down the aisle in a lush forest setting for your ceremony and serving up local produce during your reception in the barn (made from tree trunks found on the property).
You may even get to see some adorable farm animals on your special day!
- Perfect for couples who are looking for a unique venue that marries farm and forest.

7. Jim Haberl Hut

The Jim Haberl Hut is an alpine hut located at 6,800 feet of elevation in the Tantalus Mountain Range. While you can hike to the hut, the best way to access it for an elopement is via helicopter from Squamish.
In my opinion, this is one of the nicest landing spots for a helicopter elopement anywhere in the Sea to Sky region. The views from the top are absolutely incredible and the afternoon light is beautiful.
Note that the Jim Haberl Hut is awesome for a Squamish elopement ceremony and photos, but is not a full service venue for larger groups or receptions.
- Perfect for couples who want an adventurous elopement in the mountains surrounding Squamish.

8. Squamish Estuary

The Squamish Estuary is a beautiful expanse of open land where the Squamish River meets Howe Sound. It’s also a protected wildlife area for deer, beavers, bears and over 200 species of birds.
I absolutely love the views of the Chief that you can see from the Estuary, as well as Shannon Falls. Because it’s such a large area, it’s usually quite private and uncrowded. As this isn’t a traditional wedding venue, it’s best for simple elopements or very small ceremonies.
Keep in mind that the Squamish Estuary is a designated Wildlife Management Area. That means you and your guests will need to be aware of your surroundings and respectful of any rules in place.
- Perfect for couples who want a simple, untouched ceremony space with beautiful views for their elopement or small wedding.

9. For small weddings & Squamish elopements
Squamish is full of so many beautiful spots throughout the mountains, along the trails and by the river. These hidden gems are perfect for small weddings and elopements, where you and a handful of guests can walk or hike into a secluded area.
I’ve photographed so many small weddings, elopements, engagement shoots and family sessions throughout these special spots in Squamish. And I’ve experienced them in all four seasons! I’d be more than happy to suggest locations for your Squamish elopement or portrait session.
