About Logan

I was born and raised in the beautiful West Kootenays of British Columbia. Growing up there, I spent most of my childhood outdoors. Whether it was with a basketball under my arm or a skateboard under my feet, I was always outside, usually with my trusty dog on my heels.

Throughout school I was an artistic kid and spent a lot of time painting. With my love for wildlife and art, in all honesty, I wanted to be Robert Bateman. Then, when I was 18, my uncle, who was a professional photographer at the time, gave me my first camera – a Mamiya 645. It was amazing. One roll of film through the camera and that was it. At that point I decided that rather than be a wildlife artist, I was going to be a wildlife photographer. In the year 2000, I enrolled at the Western Academy of Photography in Victoria, BC to pursue that dream.

While at photography school, my focus began to change. I found that I truly loved to photograph people. I loved capturing their unique personality through my vision and couldn’t wait to see their reaction when I showed them the images. I took every class that they offered and spent all of my time photographing anyone who would let me. In graduating photo school, I was awarded the top prize of Portrait of the Year.

Wedding Photography to me is one of the most beautiful forms of art. I love weddings. I love capturing the emotion of a groom seeing his bride walk down the isle, or a father seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the very first time. A romantic kiss, a first dance, the way a couple look at each other as a new husband and wife… I am honoured to be the one trusted to capture the memories that will last a lifetime. My goal is to create the type of images that will bring back the memories and emotions of your wedding day for years to come.

Today I live in the amazing resort town of Whistler, BC. I have a beautiful and loving family and I feel incredibly lucky to do what I am passionate about for a living. My photography continues to take me to many different countries and I never stop being inspired by the crazy beautiful world we live in.
