Wedge Mountain Lodge, a private chalet and spa in Whistler, is a beautiful new venue for luxurious group stays and private events. I had the privilege of shooting not only Wedge Mountain Lodge’s commercial photography but also the first wedding hosted on the property.

After spending so much time at the lodge, I’m convinced it’s one of the best options for intimate weddings in Whistler. This place is special and is guaranteed to host a celebration you and your guests will never forget!

Why choose the Wedge Mountain Lodge for your Whistler wedding

As a Whistler wedding photographer and a local living in Whistler, I know couples love to tie the knot here because it’s such a magical place. Many people grew up taking family trips to Whistler or had it on their bucket list, and want to experience all of the beauty Whistler has to offer on their wedding day.

Wedge Mountain Lodge is a perfect backdrop to that beauty!

Here are a few reasons why you should consider planning your own Wedge Mountain Lodge wedding:

It’s a one of a kind venue

A 12,000 square foot chalet and spa in the middle of the Whistler mountains? That’s hard to beat! For your ceremony, you can choose from indoor or outdoor spaces such as The Great Room, The Spa Room, The Pool Deck or The Hill. I recommend an afternoon ceremony to take advantage of the best light.

But more than just a wedding venue, your Wedge Mountain booking includes a 3-night minimum stay at the lodge. You’ll have the entire space (10 king-size bedrooms) for you and your guests to enjoy an incredible wedding weekend in Whistler!

Everything you need is included

Wedge Mountain Lodge has all of the amenities you need to host a beautiful wedding, as well as a relaxing wedding weekend. You’ll have a concierge, hosts and executive chef on-site, plus access to transportation, the wine cellar, and more. I highly recommend making use of their bar and chef services – the cocktails and food are so good!

For you and your overnight guests at the lodge, you can make use of the entertainment (including a pickleball court, pool and movie theatre), chauffeur to get you around Whistler, and 3,000 square foot on-site spa that is completely private for your group.

It’s beautiful!

I was absolutely wowed when I visited Wedge Mountain Lodge to shoot their branding photos. Each space throughout the lodge feels so elegant with high-end finishes and thoughtful design, yet still incredibly approachable. I could picture myself relaxing here with a group of friends or my family.

Coming back to shoot Anjali and Tyson’s wedding, I got to see the lodge doing what it does best – hosting a group of loved ones in a stunning, yet comfortable, space. We enjoyed beautiful summer weather and got to make the most of the grounds and views throughout the chalet.

Celebrating an intimate wedding weekend with family

Tyson and Anjali tied the knot at Wedge Mountain Lodge in Whistler in the summer of 2024, marking the first wedding at this venue. It was an honour to capture this first, especially for Anjali and Tyson, as they had their wedding plans altered due to an illness in the family.

They shared, “Last week we changed our wedding plans from something larger in the next few years to next month. The most important part of this is to ensure we create and capture beautiful moments with our families while we are all still here.”

True to their vision, Anjali and Tyson’s day was all about family and celebrating fun and emotional moments together. They included their family members as they got ready, in a candle lighting during their ceremony, in a traditional floral garland exchange, and in their first dance on the lawn.

For an intimate wedding like this where the emphasis was on spending time with family, they couldn’t have picked a better location. They got to continue sharing moments with their family members throughout their stay at the lodge.

From helping them plan their timeline and recommending a Whistler hair stylist to finding a beautiful off-site location for portraits and capturing all of their important wedding memories, it was a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of Tyson and Anjali’s special day at Wedge Mountain Lodge.

“You came highly recommended from multiple sources. We also loved your photography and editing style; it felt really unique and striking. Upon meeting, we felt aligned with your approach, and felt that you would be a great addition to our special day.”
